Ausstellung und Künstler*innengespräche mit Antimonument, Molly Joyce, Martina Morger, Jota Ramos, Studio3
Auftakt des neuen Projektformats stadt.raum.experimente bildeten 2023 insgesamt fünf künstlerische Arbeiten im öffentlichen Raum der Stadt Düsseldorf, die in Form von Performances, VR-Workshops, Partizipationsvorhaben, digitalen Videokampagnen und Soundinstallationen umgesetzt wurden.
Am Freitag, 8. März 2024, werden die realisierten Projekte von Antimonument, Molly Joyce, Martina Morger, Jota Ramos und Studio3 im Rahmen einer Ausstellung im Sparkassengebäude der Landeshauptstadt Düsseldorf präsentiert. Im 20. Stockwerk mit Blick auf den Düsseldorfer Stadtraum werden Fragen von Öffentlichkeit, Teilhabe und zukunftsfähigen Modellen von Gesellschaft sowie Stadtentwicklung in Gesprächen mit den anwesenden Künstler*innen diskutiert.

Hintergründe
Gemäß der vom Rat der Landeshauptstadt Düsseldorf beschlossenen Richtlinie für Kunst im öffentlichen Raum ist es u.a. Aufgabe der Kunstkommission, die Realisierung von temporären oder dauerhaften Kunstprojekten im öffentlichen Raum und bei der Stadt- und Quartiersentwicklung zu initiieren. Der Kulturausschuss hat das von der Kommission entwickelte Förderprogramm stadt.raum.experimente, mit einem Budget bis max. 120.000 Euro jährlich ab 2022 in jährlicher Repetition zunächst für drei Jahre beschlossen.
Nach Durchführung eines Open Calls im Sommer 2022 gingen 169 Bewerbungen bis zum Stichtag am 15.10.2022 ein. Die Kommission wählte folgende Einreichungen mit diversen Formaten aus:

• Martina Morger cleaning her
• Jota Ramos Private Property
• Studio3 Platz der Pioniere

The new project format stadt.raum.experimente kicked off in 2023 with a total of five art works in the public space of the city of Düsseldorf, which were realized in the form of performances, VR workshops, participatory projects, digital video campaigns and sound installations.
On Friday, March 8, 2024, the realized projects by Antimonument, Molly Joyce, Martina Morger, Jota Ramos and Studio3 will be presented as part of an exhibition in the Sparkasse building of the state capital Düsseldorf. On the 20th floor with a view of Düsseldorf’s urban space, questions of the public sphere, participation, and sustainable models of society and urban development will be discussed in talks with the artists present.

Background
According to the guidelines for art in public spaces decided by the Düsseldorf City Council, one of the tasks of the art commission is to initiate the realization of temporary or permanent art projects in public spaces and in urban and neighbourhood development. The Culture Committee has approved the stadt.raum.experimente funding program developed by the commission, with a budget of up to 120,000 euros per year from 2022, initially for three years in annual repetition.
Following an open call in summer 2022, 169 applications were received by the deadline of 15.10.2022. The commission selected the following submissions with various formats:
